Dakota Community Bank & Trust History
Dakota Community Bank & Trust, N.A. was originally chartered as Security Bank of Hebron in 1940. Security Bank of Hebron operated under this name with a station in Taylor until January 1, 1983 when a group of Nebraskan investors acquired the Security Bank of Hebron and formed Hebron Banshares, Inc.
In 1982, Dale Pahlke moved from Winner, SD to become the President and CEO of the bank. Stan Sayler, a native of Hebron, N.D., joined the bank in 1984 and today serves as the Executive Vice President.
Eight years later, Dale Pahlke and Stan Sayler acquired the majority interest in Hebron Banshares, Inc. The remaining stock was acquired by the other directors and employees of the bank.
In 1992, 1st State Bank of New Leipzig was acquired and operated under that name until May of 1995. That is when 1st State Bank established a new banking facility in Dickinson and changed the name of the bank to Dakota Community Bank. Dakota Community Bank established its home office at the Dickinson location and the New Leipzig bank became a branch.
In 1997, Hebron Banshares, Inc. merged into Dakota Community Banshares, Inc. Dakota Community Bank then merged with Security Bank of Hebron and made Hebron, ND the corporate headquarters. Dakota Community Bank expanded and opened a branch in Mandan, ND in November of 1997 and a branch in Bismarck, ND in July of 1999. Growth and expansion continued with the openings of a branch in Lincoln, ND in March of 2003, Glen Ullin, ND in August of 2003, Bowman, ND and a second location in Dickinson, ND in March of 2004.
In July of 2005 the bank was converted to a National Charter with the name Dakota Community Bank, National Association. Then, in August of 2005 a second branch in Bismarck was opened for a total of eleven branches.
Dakota Community Bank, N.A. assumed Trust powers in 2011 and therefor renamed Dakota Community Bank & Trust, N.A.
Dakota Community Bank & Trust, N.A. now employs nearly 200 employees; because of these valuable individuals, Dakota Community Bank & Trust continues to grow.
